What environmental problem could your community solve in one year?

HHappy OrbisPublicado Actualizado

Global problems can feel impossible.

Local problems usually do not.

A polluted stream, illegal dumping site, missing trees, damaged wetland or badly managed public space can sometimes be changed surprisingly quickly.

What could realistically be fixed where you live within twelve months?

Start with a place and a result that people could recognise. A realistic project needs someone responsible, permission where required, a manageable budget and a plan for what happens after the first weekend. It should also respect the people who use the area now. Small projects can teach us a great deal when we record both what worked and what did not.

• Who would need to take part? • What is the first practical step? • How would you check the result after a year?
